Why am I here carving out space in the blogosphere?
Working at a church, I meet so many Birmingham newbies. With the different universities and colleges and the medical community here, this city often feels like a revolving door with people moving in and out. I just happen to be in a spot where many of them land as they’re trying to get their bearings and connect to a church family.
For me, this all started out with giving people a restaurant recommendation for lunch after church, and if something fun like a food festival was happening that weekend, I’d tell them all about it. Soon, I’d developed a restaurant recommendations list that I gave out to people who were new. Now, I have a “Restaurants to Recommend” list (where to go and what to order), a “Restaurants to Try” list (where I still need to visit), and a “Things to do in Bham” list that I keep updated and send to folks I meet.
Though I’m not from here (I’m originally from a small town in south Georgia), I have grown to love this city. The ‘Ham has become my home, and I want to help you love it as much as I do. So if you ever want to know what’s happening down in the ‘Ham, you know where to find me blogging about it.
Feel free to leave comments on the blog. I just ask that you keep them respectful and kid-friendly.
